My girlfriend and I just celebrated our one-year anniversary. Obviously, I wanted to make it as fantastic for her as possible. This article is for anyone, man or woman, who want some tips on how to your significant other a great anniversary.

1. Go away

It doesn’t have to be far. We stayed in a hotel that wasn’t too far away and had a great time. As long as you go away. This will give you a level of privacy so that you can focus on them and not anything else.

2. Do something cheesy

I know the cheesy stuff can be a little over the top, but for your anniversary it’s worth it. For our anniversary, I took her on a carriage ride through Old City Philadelphia, and it was fantastic. It was romantic and going through Old City was beautiful.

3. Let them relax

Celebrating an anniversary is just hectic if you can’t relax for a little bit. I bought her a bath bomb, let her relax in the hot water and listen to some music. Even something as simple as that can go a long way.

4. Buy something

I like to celebrate us by getting her a present. This way she has something that’s special to mark the milestone. What I did, was I bought a bath bomb that had a ring in it, and it was a great surprise for her. Doing something like that will really make the anniversary special.

5. Make something

Making something for somebody on any occasion is a great sign of love and devotion. By giving your significant other something that you made, you give them part of you, and that’s huge.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
