5 Things To Do Before Summer Ends

It's coming. Let's face it, summer (as most would agree as being the best season out of all of the seasons of the year) will eventually be coming to an end. Where did summer go? I feel like summer just started like, two days ago, but days go by quickly when you're having fun or sleeping. Both are just as important.

So, instead of focusing on the negative side of summer ending, I want to discuss some awesome, exciting things that you can do before summer officially ends...

1. Start binge watching your favorite TV show on Netflix.

Let's be real here. During the school year, you probably don't have that much time to spend watching your favorite shows other than you having the typical "study break" in between classes, at night or on the weekends. But that's not nearly enough time to fully enjoy and connect with your favorite TV series. So, get caught up on some episodes (or let's be real, seasons) of "Lost" or "The Office" and have a Netflix and chill day with your significant other, your friends, family or maybe just by yourself.

2. Get creative.

Ahhh, this is my absolute favorite thing to do during the summer. So, here is an idea. Maybe you've been wanting to pursue one of musical interests such as guitar, vocals (my personal favorite), piano, the banjo or literally any musical instrument. Or maybe you really want to start a YouTube channel to express some of your own personal interests! Or maybe you really love learning new recipes and you want new ideas on what to make! Well, I got the website for you! Go check out allrecipes for some quick, easy, tasty recipes! Just remember, this is your time to shine, it's better to start when you're free from homework and work! So, take the time to enjoy what you please.

3. Go on some adventures.

Yeah, I know, this sounds super cliche, but going on some pretty memorable adventures during the summer is actually so important and valuable. Maybe you and your bae can hit up Six Flags, go for a hike, go to the beach or even go fishing. Or if you're single (like me, so don't feel bad), ask some of your friends to also join your adventures to make some long-lasting memories. The more spontaneous, the better!

4. Spend time with your family.

I feel like the summer is the prime time to catch up with everyone you haven't seen in a really long time. Fear not, because summer gives you the perfect excuse to spend quality time with those who matter most: your family. Take the time to make some special memories with your family, because before you know it, you will be back at work or school in just a few weeks.

5. Take the time to discover or rediscover your passions.

Summer gives us time to rest, but for some of us, we take advantage of resting too much before getting back into the swing of things. So try gradually getting back into a routine and remind yourself of what matters most to you. Who knows? Maybe you'll be even more driven now than before!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
