1. Be comfortable with the uncomfortable
When I was a freshman in High school, I was painfully shy. I didn’t talk to anyone for about a week. I’m serious. Spring came around and I somehow decided to audition for the spring musical, and man was it the best experience ever! I loved it so much, met so many people, and had so much fun that I did it for the rest of my high school career!
2. Put yourself out there
Theatre teaches you to make mistakes, to embrace your fears, to talk to people you don't normally talk to, and do things that are out of the ordinary for you. They will make you better, one way or another.
3. Confidence
Theatre has taught me not to care about what others think, because when you are on a stage, you can be anything and anyone you want to be. You can’t be a good story teller if you change your story because of who is listening.
4. To have fun
Let your guard down! Relax and enjoy your time on stage, because it will be over before you know it.
5. How to find a home
A home is not made by the place itself, but the people that are in it. Make a home for those around you by being kind. It is that simple.
