5 Things That Are True When Your Mom Is Your Best Friend
Fallon Goode

Throughout our lives, we have many different best friends. The one we played Barbie with as a little girl and who was always was down to go to the playground with you. Or the one who you became a "mall rat" with. She always approved of your juicy tracksuit with Ugg's ensemble and made sure the first stop was always Starbucks for a matching strawberry frappuccino. Your best friend in high school would help Facebook stalk your crush and gossip about what happened at the football game with you all week long. In college, your best friends encourage bad decisions, long nights and more cleavage. But they also encourage getting dean's list, an internship and having communal closets. Through it all your best friend is your mom—the original, the one who's literally always had your back. Maybe she's not your go to for everything, but she'll always be your best friend.

1. She Will Support Bad Decisions

Maybe she doesn't think you should get a tattoo, but when you show up for Thanksgiving with one, she won't miss a beat making sure you know she loves it. Even if she doesn't approve of your new boyfriend who doesn't have a job and lives with his parents still, she will still support it. She may question it, but she knows it part of you growing up and figuring the world out. Sometime's accidentally spending a little too much money on the credit card will make your dad want to strangle you, but your mom will still stand up for you.

2. She Will Always Give you the Best Advice

Whether it be Pinterest quotes, Beatles lyrics, poetry or her own lessons learned, she will always have the best words of wisdom ready to go when you need it. After a bad day, before a big exam or when you just don't feel like getting out of bed she will be prepared to get you feeling inspired and able to conquer anything that lies ahead. She's had 30 extra years of living that will be able to help you make better decisions than she may have. She'll also tell you if your dress does make you look fat since she doesn't care about hurting your feelings.

3. She Will Be There No Matter What

Sometimes your best friends have a new boyfriend and forget about you or they have their own problems so they can't always be there for you. Sometimes your friends will let you down and just be terrible people. The only person who will be there no matter what is your mom. She is literally your day one homie. She will let you cry on the floor in no pants on because you don't want to go back to college and she won't judge you. She understands that being an adult is hard and will take you out for a pedicure and sushi and make it all better.

4. She's Basically You

There's one inherent truth you'll realize one day whether you like it or not, you are incredibly similar to your mother. The apple does not fall far from the tree, so if you think those terrible anxiety problems plaguing you are unique to you, it's very likely your mom has struggled with the same problems. If you're a lightweight who doesn't want to admit it, your mom is most definitely a lightweight who will be able to teach you how to handle your low tolerance with grace. If you swear like a sailor, your mom definitely has had quite the potty mouth at one point in her life. Embrace it, even if you look more like your dad, you're more like your mom than you think. Take her advice, she's made it this far.

5. Nothing Is Better Than Hanging Out With Your Mom

It might not sound that cool, but an hour with your mom is better than a whole day with your friends. You'll feel like you have your life together and had fun, all at the same time. You also don't usually have to pay for anything, which is just a minor plus. She can tell if you're upset even if you're acting just the opposite. Plus one day, one you're in her shoes, you'll be thankful for all the time that you spent together.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
