I am fat. I have been fat my whole life. There is no shame in it, there is nothing wrong with it. However, being a little husky does bring up some challenges that my thinner friends just quite don't get. This article is to highlight those things that as a fat person I have to deal with daily.

1. Getting my pants on. While I do have pants that are my size, it is nonetheless difficult to get the button nice and secure, there's also that constant threat of the button popping off but...

2. THIGH RUBBING. Skinny people just don't know how annoying it is to have your thighs rub together and cause you a world of discomfort.

Not only does it make you super uncomfortable but this happens......

Then it's time to buy a new pair of pants and start the WHOLE cycle over again

3. Having to navigate around areas our thinner companions can just get through. For me, any cafeteria presents a labyrinthian challenge with all of the chairs not pushed in. So instead of going from point A to point B, I have to go all around the world to get to my destination.

4. Crossing our legs is just not a thing that we can do... so we do whatever comes close

5. Double Standards when it comes to going to the gym...We are told that we need to go to the gym, but then when we actually go to the gym we have to deal with things like this...

These are just a couple of the things that we big people have to deal with quite often. While there are definitely things that are difficult about being fat, it is important to remind ourselves that we beautiful no matter what society, media, or anyone else wants to tell us.
