5 Things That Happen When You Join A Sorority

When you join a sorority everything happens so fast. Within a matter of seconds you suddenly are bonded with a group of women whom you now call your "sisters." Some of them you might not have even met before. Getting a bid is just the beginning when it comes to joining a sorority.

1. You instantly have friends

Sometimes it's hard making new friends. People can be scary and seem really unapproachable. Well, that all goes away when you join a sorority. Suddenly you have sisters in your classes, sisters who want to go to lunch or dinner with you, and even those brave sisters who become your new workout partners.

2. Instagram Likes

No matter what you post on Instagram, your sisters will always like it. When you post a selfie, you can always count on them to comment and tell you how hot you are. Your sisters are always there when you need a little confidence boost.

3. Your t-shirt game gets SUPER strong

Sorority girls love t-shirts. There is a t-shirt for every event and it's the greatest thing, ever! Suddenly you have a t-shirt for every day of the week. This makes getting dressed for classes so incredibly easy. I mean, who doesn't love an excessive amount of t-shirts?

4. You get involved with things on campus

Often times, people don't join clubs because they don't know anyone in the clubs. When you join a sorority you're bound to have one sister in the club you want to join, or a sister who would want to join with you. The more your sisters are involved, the more involved you suddenly start to become.

5. You find your home away from home

It's hard adapting to college life. You don't know anyone, you're in a new place without you're family and you're constantly being tested both mentally and emotionally. When you join your sorority, you find your home; your new family. It's the most liberating feeling ever. To be accepted in a strange place where everyone is just trying to make it in the real world, is the greatest feeling ever. Your sorority sisters become your support system, your heroes and your biggest fans.

The dynamics of any friend group are usually determined by the personalities which make it up. 6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.
