1.) Time
Yes I know, this is probably the tip that everyone hears the most but it is true. Time is the best cure for everything. Especially when it comes to getting over your ex. You'll feel better a year or a month later than you did the day after everything happened.
2.) Meet new people
I know it may be hard to think that someone else can be as important to you as your ex was but don’t be afraid to try to find somebody else eventually. Remember, once upon a time you didn’t know your ex either. One person can have such an effect on your life. There’s millions of people out there waiting for you to find them and make a difference in their life. Think of it that way. Positivity all around.
3.) It’s okay to cry
Everyone is upset after a break-up. People will understand if you need some time to cry. Don’t be ashamed. It’s actually a healthy thing to let it all out. Take a day for yourself to watch your favorite t.v. show on Netflix and eat all of your favorite foods. Who doesn’t love doing that? That will make you feel better and like a king or queen.
4.) Try new things
Do something that you’ve always wanted to do, like joining a sports league. Doing those kinds of things will also help you meet new people. Also, try new things that you never have. If you’ve never gone somewhere, plan a mini getaway for yourself. It’s okay to treat yourself every once in a while. Book yourself a spa day, or a weekend of camping.
5.) Forgive them and yourself
Time doesn’t necessarily heal all of the pain of something you and your ex did in the past relationship. Your ex could have done something that really hurt you that you are still hanging onto, find it in you to forgive them. Trust me, it helps. Also, if you did something to your ex that you are guilty about forgive yourself. We all are human and make mistakes. We all make mistakes and we can learn from them for next time.
