While summer is a great time for all the traditional "warm-weather" activities, sometimes we crave a little change. Personally, I believe that summer is the perfect time to explore new places and step out of your comfort zone. In my opinion, summer is great for self-evaluation and figuring out your own personal goals and dreams. If you ever find yourself bored, then be sure to check out these things to do!
1. Rockland Boulders Baseball
Boulders Stadium offers a relaxing night of ball to everyone! The stadium is beautiful and is filled with traditional ball-game foods. They also hold a Summer Concert Series where live music is performed every Friday and Saturday after the last out. Periodically, fireworks are displayed for the entire stadium to see!
2. Nyack Street Fair
If you're looking for a day filled with fun, shopping and food, then I highly recommend marking your calendars for July 10! I love street fairs because you can find merchandise that is one-of-a-kind and often handmade. The Nyack Street Fair is an event that should not be missed and you're guaranteed to get plenty of exercise as well!
3. Bear Mountain Hiking
Hiking along a trail on Bear Mountain is a way to make exercising a little more fun because you get to look at all the beautiful scenery! Another plus is that you can take an artsy Instagram picture when you reach the top!
4. Cooking Class At Sur La Table
Sur La Table is an upscale store that sells cooking supplies, but it also has cooking classes! This store can be found throughout the country, but there are two located in Nanuet, NY and New York City! Although these classes can be pricey, if you sign up for them close to the date of the class, then the cost is usually a lot cheaper. Another plus is that you can use your new cooking skills to impress your friends at a summer cookout/barbecue!
5. Trip To Manhattan
I felt that this list would be incomplete without including Manhattan because you cannot possibly be bored there! I recommend that you check out an area of the city that is less touristy, because there are often a lot of hidden treasures there. If you are interested in fashion, then a fun activity is going thrift shopping at one of the many thrift stores throughout the city. Whether you decide to eat at a cool restaurant that you found on Instagram or explore a unique museum, you will find yourself satisfied in the Big Apple.
