My social media feeds this spring break have been overrun with photographs of people lounging on beaches or exploring European cities. I have yet to see, however, a post from someone spending their spring break just as I am—indoors seeking refuge from the nor'easter outside.
The word "spring" in itself seems to promise a reprieve from the winter weather, so I expected spring break to be the same. Apparently, that's only true if you travel to somewhere with warmer weather. Who would've thought?
So, here are some fun things to do this spring break if you're stuck in Pennsylvania (or really anywhere cold) like me:
1. Go skiing
Who needs a ski vacation when you can go skiing right at home?
2. Make hot chocolate
Sure beats a pina colada on a beach, right?
3. Build a fort
You're never too old for a good ol' pillow fort.
4. Build a snowman
The sandman you built at the beach was waaaay less impressive...
5. Catch up on your shows
You can't really binge watch on a beach with the glare from the sun!
Maybe this isn't my ideal spring break, but it's not the worst thing either. I love getting cozied up inside with a cup of hot chocolate and a good show, and I surely couldn't do the same on a beach somewhere.
