While working as an ice cream scooper during the summer time, you experience many things. You have your regulars who come in and get their norms or to try the new flavor, you have your group of teens who come in before closing and all order milkshakes, and you have your families who come in for dessert after getting a bite to eat from across the street. Although working at an ice cream shop is one of the easiest jobs, you still have times where you become annoyed, stressed, and ready to just quit. During these times we think of many things in our head, but don't say them out loud because it is our job to keep our customers happy. From us scoopers to you, here is what we really think...

1. You just tried a whole bunch of samples to end with plain vanilla?

It is normal to get newbies in the shop all the time. As a tradition, we offer samples of our favorites and ask them if they'd like to try any others. We give each sample with a loving smile hoping they'll go big and get the craziest flavor we have. Nothing saddens us more than a customer ordering plain vanilla in a cup. Get wild with your flavors!

2. You want hot fudge on your ice cream.... that is in a waffle cone?

We'd love to give you toppings, but asking for something like hot fudge on a cone is just insane, it will melt! However, we will still try our best to give it to you because c'mon it'd be cool to see it work out right?

3. Are you sure you wanna give your 3-year-old a double scoop at 7 o'clock? We have minis!

As much as your child love ice cream we think it's a little crazy to give them a double scoop. Our mini scoops are the way to go for your little one!

4. I hope we don't get a rush before closing because that would suck... A LOT.

We love serving our customers and making them happy, but having to do it before closing is terrible for us. It keeps us later than normal. We wanna go home just as much as you want your ice cream,

5. Man... I love my job!

There is nothing better than becoming friends with your coworkers and even your regulars. We love to serve ice cream and make everyone's day just a little bit better! There is truly nothing better than being a scooper!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
