I know how it is when you go out and the cashier is taking forever and your patience is wearing thin and you're just trying to get out of there, but here are a few things you should keep in mind next time you think about yelling at them.
1. We are trying to help you as fast as we can.
Although it may seem like time is going really slow and that you have been in the store for years now, we suggest that you take a deep breath because we promise we are trying to get you in and out as fast as we can.
2. Barking orders at us, makes us less inclined to help you.
When we have a line and you keep yelling at us because you are getting annoyed, makes us stressed and we are unable to help you at the best of our abilities. When you yell at us because we can't hear you, it also hinders our ability to help you. So please, just talk to us in a nice tone and we will be more than happy to help you.
3. Yes, you can speak to a manger but they are probably going to tell you the exact same thing we did.
We understand you're flustered and we want to help you, believe me. But asking to speak to a manager for the most part is useless because they are most likely going to give you the same information we did. But you just wanted to hear it from higher authority.
4. I promise that being nice will get you a long way.
We are just as tired as you are and i know the last thing you want to do is encounter a problem but the best thing you can do is be a nice person because we respond really well to being nice. I can tell you first hand that after multiple rude customers, one polite person can make a huge difference.
5. We are humans too.
I think when people go out, they just assume that everyone is there to please them. But some customers need to remember that we have feelings just like you do and when you yell and scream at us and put us down just because we aren't moving fast enough for you, doesn't help anything. We are there to help you and assist you, but being polite goes a long long way.
Sincerely,
All customer service associates.
