Despite how common eyeglasses are in this day and age, they’ve never ceased to be the subject of fascination among those who don’t need them. This curiosity often leads to the same questions and comments that makes glasses-wearers wish that their hearing was impaired as well, such as:
1. "Can I try on your glasses?"
If you really want to know what you look like with glasses on, try on a pair at your local department store.
2. *As you try them on* "Wow! You really can't see!"
Why do you think I'm wearing them?
3. "You look better without your glasses!"
I get that this is meant to be a compliment, but it's honestly really rude. I still have to wear them, and you just made me feel crappy about doing so.
4. "Have you considered getting contacts?"
At least when I lose my glasses, it doesn't feel like I'm searching for a needle in a haystack.5. "How many fingers am I holding up?"
WE'RE NOT BLIND.
Hopefully, this has given you insight about how to approach your spectacle-wearing friend. Curiosity isn't a bad thing, but please go about it in a manner where you don't end up uttering any of these.
