The Things You Shouldn't Worry About

Worrying is something people do everyday and sometimes there is no reason to worry about it. There are always ways to fix things that you are worrying about – but if you actually break down what you are worrying about, I am pretty sure there is little to no reason for anyone to stress these five things.

1. Grades

Honestly, as long as you are passing the class, there is NO reason to stress over grades. This is kinda weird for me to say because I stress making sure that I keep my GPA high, but when it comes down to it, C's get degrees. I realize I don't need straight A's to be successful – yeah it looks good and definitely feels good to have a 4.0, but at what cost? As long as you are trying, and doing your best, you are doing all you can do and there is no reason to worry.

2. Money

Yeah, I understand this is hard not to stress over and worry about – but if you are smart with your money and budget it, you are sure to have less stress. When you get paid, always set some aside for you (not something you need but something you want), also make sure you put at least a little bit into your savings. Having everything set so you don't over spend. Budget everything in. There are plenty of ways to learn how to better budget your money, try google or YouTube for some examples.

3. Image

People worry about what others think of them all the time, or their image. They want to make sure they can get the most people to like them and usually don't consider if those people would like them if they were themselves. If you are more comfortable in sweatpants and a t-shirt, rock it! People will like you for who you are, and your image is not a big deal. Don't worry about what people think of who you really are, because the only image that should matter is how you view yourself. Don't try to impress anyone other than yourself.

4. Looks

The only looks that matter are the ones you see when you look in the mirror. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, so feeling as though you are not pretty is useless. There is someone out there who will think you are pretty without makeup on. They will find you gorgeous when you are in a bikini. And as long as YOU are comfortable in your own body, don't worry about the negative stuff people say about your looks. Don't worry about how you look, because to the right people, looks don't matter.

5. Little Things

If you find yourself saying, "I am worrying for no reason" – you are a victim of stressing the little things. There is no reason to worry about little things, they are just that – little things. There is no need to worry about tomorrow because it is going to happen regardless, and you can't worry about tomorrow before tomorrow has a chance to worry about itself. Don't worry about what you are going to eat for dinner, because honestly, just eat food and you're set.

Strive to live a worry free life. Worry less and Live your life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
