Wow, who would’ve known that we would be battling the geography barrier? Who would’ve ever guessed we would be living in different time zones?

I just have a few things to say to you, though.

1) No matter how far the distance gets, you're always right next to my heart

You could be 3000 miles away and I love you just as much as if you were 3 miles away, if not more. I have friends close by who I'm able to see as often as I want but I know it's not that simple for us so yes, I keep you closer to my heart than you know.

2) Thank you for only being a text or phone call away

With technology now a days, I'm so glad you are very familiar with for the times that I need to vent or cry or simply hear your voice. You never hestitate to pick up the phone or text me when you see my name come across the screen. I text you out of the blue for absolutley nothing and you manage to \work my random texts and calls into your busy scehdule.

3) I’m still cheering you on, even from miles away

I see you having fun with all your new friends. I see you doing things that we used to do. I see you moving forward with school and new jobs. It sucks that I don't get to be a part of all of that but you need to know that more than that, I'm so happy cheering you on from the sidelines. Watching you grow into who you're becoming has become one of my favorite things.

4) I miss you each and every day

It was very weird going from seeing you every single day and having a constant lunch date. It was weird no longer having someone to do dumb things with me. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't wish you were back home. While facetiming you while you get ready or texting you while you're eating, it's never gonna beat us dancing around my room or just being lazy all day.

5) My ‘goodbye’ is never a goodbye

I never mean the word "goodbye." Goodbye, by definition is a farewell. My intentions are never to say bye to you for good. I plan on seeing you again. You aren't a good friend for no reason. Our paths are bound to cross again at some point. I'll keeping saying "till next time" to you.

Whether you’re up the coast or across the country, no distance is too far for my heart. Seeing you after such a long period of time is one of the sweetest hellos and hardest see-you-later's, but the distance between us is only making our friendship grow stronger.I'm being patient until i get to see you again. Know, long-distance best friend, I love you more than anything and no distance between us could every change that.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
