As scary as it is, we are all living every single day with the hope that our clock keeps ticking to carry us on through another day. We never know how much time we have. For this reason, we must be careful how we use our time. Many of us are lucky enough to live long lives, while many other’s lives are cut far too short for a variety of reasons. All in all, I think we can all agree that life is too short. For this reason, I feel that it is only right that we use our time wisely as tomorrow is never guaranteed.

1. Life is too short for crappy friends.

We choose who we surround ourselves with, which also plays a major role in how others see us. The friends we go through life with should be people we feel loved and supported by as we should be doing the same for them. These people should be genuine and make us happy. It may takes us more time than we would like to find these people in our lives, but I can guarantee that it will be worth it.

2. Life is too short to not take risks.

The last thing that anyone wants to be doing as they are entering the end of their life is to be thinking about all of the things they didn’t do and regretting not doing them. We cannot let fear control us. We are stronger than it and have the ability to do whatever we set our minds to. Taking risks is what leads to change and new beginnings.

3. Life is too short to be doing things that don’t make you happy.

We tend to get caught up in bad situations or in careers that make us unhappy. Instead of changing our situation, we dwell in this unhappiness for many years. Although changes like these may be difficult, we need to understand that we deserve to be happy.

4. Life is too short to not hang out with your family.

Family is one of our most precious gifts. While we are at a race against the clock, so are they. We must make time in our busy lives to be with the ones we love. Memories with these people are ones that we can look back on forever.

5. Life is too short to not say “I love you” enough.

Letting people know you love them is not only extremely important, but super easy. These three words can make someone’s day who is struggling or simply put a smile on the face of a family or friend. Being surrounded by people that love you whom you also love back is a truly powerful and beautiful thing. For this reason, we must share our love for others with them.

It’s simple: life is too short. We must accept this concept and live our lives with thought, love, and freedom. We never know what day could be our last, so we must live every day in a way that satisfies us. But above all we must enjoy the lives we are given.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
