1) The Customer Is Always Right

No matter how right you know you are, or how nasty a customer may be, when there are a thousand other people in the store, and so many other things to worry about, they could try and tell you a square is round and you just have to smile and nod.

2) Some Things You're Gonna Have To Do Twice

Even with complimentary gift wrapping, some customers still are not satisfied. You'll wrap...and wrap, and wrap again until it is to their liking. Bow isn't big enough? Wrap Again. Don't really like that color? Wrap Again. While it can be irritating, it's something to just shake off and do cause you're getting paid for it.

3) You Can't Please Everyone

You can pull tons of clothing and accessories for a customer that you think will be to their liking, and it most likely won't. Then there's times you know a husbands wife better than he does, but he's still convinced she'll like a pair of socks for Christmas best. All you can do is be patient, and as helpful as possible.

4) Having A Positive Attitude Makes The Biggest Difference

There are so many things to be frustrated about while working in retail, but if you laugh most of it off, your day will go so much better. While you can't control rude customers, you can control your attitude, and possibly make their day a little better.

5) Getting Along With Your Co-Workers Is Key

I have to say I'm extremely spoiled in this department because my co-workers are some of my best friends. I work with 9 other girls, and you'd expect that it would be a mad house all the time but it really isn't. We all get along really well, and the support system we have is what got us through the holidays. Nothing ends well if you can't stand the people you work with. And while this situation isn't common I'm extremely blessed it worked out the way it did.

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
