1.You don’t have to speak to your hometown friends as much as you did before to fortify your friendship.

Some of those friends will last and others may not but that is okay. Always appreciate how a another person may have impacted or contributed to your life in any way no matter how or if it ends.

2.It is okay to ask for help.

Transition is always hard, and if you're learning how to fend for yourself there is no shame in asking for advice from those who have managed to do the whole "adulting" thing, accepting free things, or letting your parents help you financially.

3. You will get less sleep for the sake of two things : adventure or responsibility. Sometimes you have to pick between the two.

4.You will change in one way or another.

You may discover new hobbies or leave old ones behind, you may grow up or realize you're not as mature as you thought you were. You will hang with a new group of people, you may start drinking coffee. There are a great number of things that could change about you and you should embrace those changes as they come and be willing to make new discoveries about yourself.

5.You must learn how to rely on yourself.

Trust your gut, and make decisions for yourself with confidence. When you begin to doubt yourself and your abilities that is when the anxiety and stress sets in. Just remind yourself that you got this, because you do.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
