5 Things I Learned After Graduation

5 Things I Learned After Graduation

1. Getting a job is hard.

While still in school, I thought getting a job was going to be easier, but that is not the case. It’s a little tougher than I initially thought.

2. This should have happened a while ago.

While I’m really happy to have an internship with a company I never thought I’d have one with, I should have gotten this while in school since it would have been easier.

3. I wish I could go back to school the minute I graduated.

While this isn’t the case for everyone, I love to learn, but I guess it’s time to move on.

4. Life after graduation isn’t what it’s cracked up to be.

If you’re anything like me, maybe you didn’t have a job lined up right after graduation (not one that pays), but you’re trying your best.

5. Look for jobs that put your major to work.

I think the best advice I could receive was to look for a job that put my Bachelor's degree in journalism to work.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
