Spring break is almost here... Thank goodness! It'll be nice to get away from the work load for a while. Here are some things that I plan to do to reduce my stress during the break.

1. Enjoy the weather.

The weather has been really nice recently. Where I live, the winter hasn't been bad at all this year. I'm hoping that the nice weather will stick around while I'm on spring break. I would love to be able to get some fresh air and take my dog for plenty of walks! Warmer weather is my favorite because there is a noticeable improvement in the way that I feel.

2. Watch Disney movies.

I'll watch any movies that I want, but I am especially excited to watch Disney movies that I haven't seen in a while. Disney movies help to get my mind off of things while giving me a sense of nostalgia. I never get tired of them!

3. Get more sleep.

A lot of college students can say they're sleep deprived. I definitely am. Between the work load and stress that keeps me up at night, sometimes I wonder how I don't fall asleep during my classes. I'm not afraid to say that I'm planning to sleep in during spring break. I need the extra time to recharge.

4. Spend more time with friends and family.

I love that school keeps me busy because I never have time to get bored. There's times when my work gets in the way of doing things that I really want to do. This break will allow me to have more time to focus on enjoying the people in my life. They are not second best compared to my homework, but there are things that we all have to do. My family and friends will always be the most important aspects of my life.

5. Take more time to focus on myself.

The past few days have been some of the most stressful days of my life. That's saying a lot. I need to take time during this break to focus on my own well being. I want to do whatever I can to lower my anxiety level and make myself happy.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
