Even when I'm far from home, I don't feel like I'm alone.

Living with someone can be challenging, especially if you're new to sharing space. This transition really isn't easy, but having a great roommate really helps. From a personal standpoint, these are somethings I want to say to my roommate:

1. You are awesome.

You listen to me complain about classes, laugh (sometimes snort), talk about boys (my boyfriend), Cry when i'm home sick, munch on everything and anything and swearing to me that I'm not fat while I'm doing so. Thank you for not getting upset with me when you're trying to sleep and I thump out of bed in the morning. Another thing that makes you awesome is your taste in movies, it makes picking out what to watch a breeze.

2. You do a good job keeping it together.

You're on top of your studies, you respect my time and our shared space, you keep your half of the room nice and you don't smell, MAJOR PLUS! You are generous with your belongings and always have a listening ear. You're straightforward and that's super helpful.

3. Thanks for making me feel comfortable.

You don't judge me for leaving out my coffee mugs, you don't get mad at me for using every air freshener in the world (because I love all of them). Thank you for not being weirded-out when I randomly whip off my shirt to change, it makes things less awkward. I really appreciate that you don't try to micromanage..I've never dealt well with controlling people so I love how relaxed you are. I am thankful that you not only live with my over-usage of my favorite color and animal, but that you encourage it, well... Almost. ;)

4. I admire you.

You and I have started opening up and getting to know each other and the things you've shared with me, make me so proud of you! You've overcome things I couldn't imagine going through and I respect you so much for it. It's so awesome how unique you are, you have your own interests and your major is super fun and different then mine, I love hearing all about it.

5. You don't make it so hard to be away from home.

Having to share a room with someone isn't as intimidating and horrible as I thought it would be. I was weary because I havent had to share a room before, but hey, I guess you're alright. :)

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
