I live in Danbury, Connecticut, a small city on the New York border of Fairfield County that gets a bed rep with the other typical Connecticut towns it's surrounded by. However, I'm here to tell you that Danbury is great (and part of it that gives it a bad rep is the best part about it).
Bagelman
To all those who haven't been blessed with Bagleman's bacon egg and cheese with a hashbrown in it... I'm sorry. Exclusive to Danbury (with one on the border with Brookfield) Bagelman is the best breakfast and lunch place ever. I'm sorry NYC, your bagels do not compare to Bagelman and that's just how it is (and Bagelman's fries are better too).
Stew Leonard's
Though not exclusive to Danbury, Danbury does have one and nothing is quite like Stew's. Seasonal festivities like pumpkin picking and hay rides, Christmas tree shops and Christmas movies with hot chocolate, and the wonderful Hoedown restaurant during the summer, all make for the best grocery store there ever was. This is just in addition to all of the great Stew's-special aspects inside the actual store year-round. Plus, if you spend a certain amount you get free ice cream, so that's cool.
Seeing my dog
Nothing really to do with the town of Danbury, he's just really cute.
The fall foliage
Landscape Fall Scenic Squantz Pond ConnecticutCome on... It's Connecticut in the Autumn aka the setting of at least half the Hallmark movies -- unbeatable.
The diversity
Danbury's inclusivity and diversity is second to none, embracing everyone regardless of they're background. This is what I'm most excited to return to. Being in Danbury is knowing that you're not being judged based on these superficial things abut you and, as Danburians, we all get that.
