Like most people, my favorite season is fall. I love the crisp weather, the sound of the leaves crunching under my feet, and the amazing views that comes with it. Fall season in Indiana is like no other. So if you live in Indiana or travel there during fall, here are five things you should do!
1. Visit Brown County State Park
Fall time in Brown County State Park is literally breath taking. The winding roads take you to what can only be compared to as a warmer Narnia. The leaves are scattered and make some of the most beautiful pictures. It is a great time of the year for school pictures and weddings!
2. Experience a haunted house
Now I understand that haunted houses are not for everyone. But you should at least go to one! One of the biggest in Indiana is Indy Scream Park in Anderson, Indiana. It consists of six different attractions such as Pandemic, Zombieland Apocalypse, Brickmore Asylum, and many more! If you get a thrill off of getting scared, Indy Scream Park is definitely a place to visit!
3. The Parke County Covered Bridge Festival
The Covered Bridge Festival is probably one of the biggest events of the season. People come from all over Indiana and even the surrounding states. Even if you don't like shopping, the experience in itself is like no other! The great food and views bring in many tourists. You can either visit the festival in Bridgeton, Indiana or nearby Mansfield, Indiana. Either way, make sure to wear good walking shoes and bring a camera! It is definitely an experience to remember.
4. Visit a pumpkin patch
Pumpkin patches are not only for kids! Bring your family, friends, or significant other and come pick out the biggest pumpkin you can find! The biggest pumpkin patch in Indiana is Exploration Acres in Lafayette, Indiana with over 18 acres of pumpkins and a corn maze!
5. Go to a bonfire
Okay, so maybe you can have a bonfire in any state. By add in everything else Indiana has to offer during the fall, (especially the views!) why would you want to have it anywhere else?
