Being a girl isn't always the easiest thing. We have to deal with so many things and sometimes life gets hard. In the midst of everything we have going on, we forget to remind ourselves of the things that are important. There's always things that all of us girls just need to hear sometimes. So, here are five things that every girl needs to be reminded of right now.

1. It's okay to not be okay

This is the most important one. Girls have so much pressure to be the best they can be and always be put together. But the truth is, it's okay to not be okay. Sometimes we girls just need to break down, get some ice cream, and lie in bed watching Netflix all day. We shouldn't always have to be put together all the time. It's important to know that it's okay to take a break and just...not be okay.

2. Have Confidence

Having confidence is key. I know we all have insecurities, and honestly, that's okay. Who doesn't? But portraying yourself as a confident, independent woman can make you not only feel better about yourself, but can also help you in your friendships, relationships, and career.

3. Always Forgive

Sometimes forgiving someone is the hardest thing to do. I think we can all agree that finding forgiveness in our hearts for the people that have wronged us is hard, but trust me, when you forgive someone it makes you such a stronger person. Not only stronger, but you become the bigger person. You may never forget what they did to you, but forgiving them will make you a better person in the end.

4. Let It Go

Trust me, this one is a hard one. Letting the past go can be one of the hardest things to do, but I promise you that whatever it is, letting it go can be so good for yourself. There's no changing the past, and accepting that will help you move on to bigger and better things. I'm a firm believer in 'everything happens for a reason,' and accepting the things that happen in your life and letting them go will make moving on easier and ultimately make you happy.

5. Always Be A Priority

When it comes to relationships and friendships, always be a priority. Don't let anyone take you for granted because you are important and don't deserve to be treated like you are less than you are. Feeling like you are the second choice in anything is one of the worst feelings ever. Always make sure your true friends, as well as your partners, put you first. This also goes both ways. Be a good friend and girlfriend, and make sure they feel like they are put first in your life. Don't let yourself forget who you are and how important you deserve to be treated.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
