Upon returning home from college I found myself in a predicament that many New Yorkers face; not having enough closet space.
As I stared at my closet filled with clothes I hadn't seen in a year, I had no room for the clothes that filled the two giant duffle bags I had slaved to carry through Port Authority on my trip back home. As someone who is an avid retail therapy shopper getting rid of clothes is a lot harder than buying new ones.
Here are five things to clean out of your closet to help you make room for your summer shopping sprees.
1. That t-shirt you had in middle school that somehow still fits you.
2. Those clothes sitting in the back of your closet that you forgot were even there.
3. Those clothes you bought online on one of the main shopping sprees that you didn't actually need.
4. The clothes you got on sale because they were on sale.
5. Those itchy winter sweaters you hated but wore because it was negative 3 degrees.
After cleaning out your closet and filtering out the clothes you don't really need any more you can either sell them online or donate them. You can sell your clothes online on sites like Poshmark or eBay but if you chose to donate them they can be dropped off at your nearest Salvation Army or Goodwill.
I hope this list is helpful. Happy Summer cleaning!
