1. How To Be Myself
All through high school and the beginning of college, I thought I had to be shy and hide my true self and personality to impress a boy. I thought I couldn’t express my true feelings and opinions. I thought I had to like the same things as him for him to like me. I finally learned that being myself is the only true way to get the best kind of boy; one that really cares.

2. How To Get To Know Everything About Someone
Learning everything about someone is arguably one of the best parts of being in a long-term relationship. Some people are interested in getting the attention of as many people as possible and having fun. I’ve learned that finding that one and giving it your all is way more rewarding.
3. How Great It Feels To Have Someone To Tell Everything To
I absolutely love having someone that is the first one I want to tell when something happens. Whether it be good news, bad news, or just the little things like what I had for lunch.
4. How To Live Life Not Only For Myself
This one is one of the biggest things I have learned, even though I never really even realized it was happening. Taking someone else’s feelings and desires into consideration can sometimes be hard, but I have learned how to compromise and make decisions not only based on myself.
5. How To Truly Love
People have many teenage relationships that they think are real love, myself included. The absolute best and most important thing I have learned was how to truly and whole-heartedly love and be loved. And let me tell you there is no better feeling.
I have figured out over time what it is supposed to be like to love someone and have this feeling of happiness, stability, and strength. Falling in love taught me not only how to love someone else, but how to love myself. My long-term relationship has pushed me to be the best version of myself, for him and for me, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I love you.
