So recently I have seen the 'Back to the Future' movies for the first time...and it was amazing! For some reason watching these movies left me with a profound feeling, thought. One time my coach asked me how he would know if one of his lectures has gotten through to me and I told him he would know if I was deep in thought. That means I'm making plans and trying to take action to reevaluate my goals and dreams. This movie made me do that and these are the reasons why.
1. Try the "Nutty" Ideas
There are many thoughts that go through my mind a day and I try to disregard the "nutty" ones but sometimes I don't and maybe I shouldn't. Some crazy thoughts are good. A crazy thought led to the invention of the time machine! So maybe your crazy thoughts won't lead to the invention of a time machine but it could still lead to something great like a job change or laughter. People laugh at my crazy thoughts when I share them but that's something that brings people laughter and maybe even widens their view.
2. Be Adventurous
I have a problem being adventurous. I love to try new things but things outside the comfort zone is scary! It's scary not knowing what is going to happen so we try to shield ourselves from those situations. When we need to venture out to find things we like, love or need.
3. Every Moment Counts
Through these movies you could see how easily the future could be changed by one action. Even though we are not currently altering the future by being in the past, we change our future by what we know now. My mom always tells me that I can't make a wrong choice but I know I'm shaping my future. We shouldn't worry about that and make each moment count.
4. History has Surely Proven Itself
Through these movies you can see the time span of different times and different lifestyles. You can see the advances in technology and how far we have come even though many people don't appreciate that. We may not have everything that they said we were going to have in 2015 but surprisingly most is already invented....look it up!
5. You Can Write Your Own Future
One of the last lines in the movie was the Doc telling Marty that he was free to write his own future and I think that's the message they wanted to leave everyone with. It got me thinking! If I were to write my own future what would I write? So I challenge you to figure that out and pursue it! Because that's what I'm going to do!
