That extra half-inch in our height is everything.

5 Things All Short Girls Want You To Know

ALL THE NORMAL HEIGHT AND TALL PEOPLE, LISTEN UP (OR DOWN):

1. We are not your arm rest.

Do you not realize that it's very condescending and rude for you to put your arm on our head and laugh? People have been doing it to us since they realized we were short. It's not attractive. We will probably want to kick you in the kneecaps after. (And yes, we CAN do that).

2. You need to stop calling us "cute" or "munchkin."

If you're calling us "cute" because we're shorter than you, you can stop right now. Just walk away. Just like the arm rest thing, it happens all the time. You're insulting. Munchkin? Seriously, don't get a short girl started on "munchkin." Your Wizard of Oz reference isn't funny.

3. Do not ask us id we are a legal midget (even if we probably are).

There really is nothing to say here. Even if we were a legal midget, it's a) none of your business, and b) none of your business. Worry about yourself.

4. Do not underestimate us because of our height.

The "cute" thing goes a long, hard way. People don't realize that once they classify us as "cute," they might be classifying us as being incapable or naive. Just because we may look like we're not a college student or grad, doesn't mean we don't go to college or have a degree.

5. Half inches in our height are important to us.

We're really small. We take pride in that extra half-inch. It makes us feel taller. Don't give us crap for stating that we're half an inch taller than you think we are. Again, you will probably get kicked in the kneecaps. Every short girl will agree that you deserve it.

Plus, we get Kristin Chenoweth, Ariana Grande, Kim AND Kourtney Kardashian, Nicole Richie, and more. We win.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
