5 Thanksgiving Looks

This holiday season is upon us and we are all busy with family gatherings, traditions, and sporting events. It is the most wonderful time of year right? One thing that I never know before a holiday is what to wear. I never know what is appropriate or what vibe we are going with for the year. My family has dressed up and dressed down for the holidays so it really is a gamble. Well if you are like me, you need some ideas for some Thanksgiving looks. Here are some looks you could serve this year at the Thanksgiving table from classy and chic to cute and cozy!

1. Impress the in-laws.

When you are dressing to impress, you are bringing out your best. Bring out a nice dress and your best pair of heels because you are serving the looks this year. When going to a formal Thanksgiving dinner, you need to dress for the occasion. Match the formality in your dress selection and even accessorize with some jewelry. You do not even realize how much a necklace and some earrings can do for your outfit!

2. Simple Classy.

This is when you wanna keep is classy, but there is no need to overdo it. You know this will be a picture worthy occasion for the family and you need to be prepared. I would go for a simple sweater dress and some flats or even wedges to spice it up. Something super simple but yet doing more than for a typical family dinner. Ready for pictures but at the same time you are giving off the, "I am just here for the food and wine" vibe.

3. Cute Casual.

I would say cute casual would be some nice jeans and a cute top. You have a lot of freedom with tops that are cute and causal at the same time. Wearing a nice pair of jeans goes far enough to give you some slack for the top. And yet again, accessorizing means everything! I personally love dressing cute casual because the options are endless! You are ready to help cook and eat but at the same time could take a few pictures along the way!

4. Touchdown Look.

This look is for the football fans out there. Everyone knows about how important football on Thanksgiving Day is. In my family, we have the games playing all day during our gathering so that all of the guys can take time to watch (most of their time). Sometimes, your family's favorite team is playing and you can not help but rock your team's jersey! Pick an outfit that is effortlessly cute yet prepared for you to do a victory dance in it!

5. Post Turkey Look.

Time for the stretchy pantsss!! There is something about wearing sweatpants or leggings and a sweatshirt to Thanksgiving dinner that just hits different. You do not need to worry about bloating or unbuttoning your pants because of how much turkey you just ate. Being in your comfiest clothes, knowing that you are about to eat your weight in food. Now that is what I called being prepared for a real Thanksgiving dinner.

I'll never forget the day that someone told me these words: "Madison, I think you're a good friend to everyone but yourself." I stood there completely in awe of that statement. Before that day, I never really thought about being a friend to myself, and at the time, I didn't really know what it meant. Now, I realize that you can't fully be there for other people unless you're there for yourself, too. You can't show up for others until you're willing to show up for yourself.

Here are five things everyone should learn in order to be a better friend to themselves. These steps are hard, but they're so worth it.
