No matter what, there are just some things we can only say to our best friends. Over the years, especially more recently, I’ve found that there are some texts that I send (or my best friends send) on a regular basis.
Here are five of them:
1. Is this outfit cute?
Every girl knows it's important to get another’s approval on your outfit choice. From the moments you are in the mall about to buy an outfit (or not), going to eat with someone important or when you simply cannot tell if the outfit actually looks decent or not, it is vital to ask for another opinion. A best friend can always count on getting these texts at any hour of the day. No matter what you’re doing, it is important to not only answer, but to answer honestly, because despite how simple of a problem this seems to be it is actually vital.
2. Is he cute?
Ladies, we all know we have found ourselves wondering why we find certain guys attractive. My friends constantly are sending messages in our group chat about guys to get a “second opinion.” These questions are totally reliable because once again, as a best friend, you have to be honest, but there’s no worrying about being judged (because they’ve been there before). My friends have sent these texts on numerous occasions simply to see if I can see the correlation between their thoughts. Although we do not always see eye-to-eye, as best friends I know what she’s typically thinking.
3. I'm coming over
After some point in time, best friends can become like sisters. My best friend’s mom is now also my mom, same for her dad and her siblings. Basically, our families all just become one big family and there is no question to if I can come over. I am already there 90 percent of the time. If I’m sitting in my house bored or simply just want to see my best friend, I know I can always count on going to see her.
4. Text me back
Time after time I find myself sending these text messages. Walking around by myself avoiding eye contact, sitting at a table by myself, when I just refuse to focus or when I just want to talk to my best friend, I can honestly say I send this text (and receive it) about three times a day. As best friends, it's required to be there for all the boring and awkward times, or even the times when you just want to annoy one another.
5. I hate you
There’s nothing better than sending the I hate you text, knowing that what you actually mean is I love you, thanks for being such a great friend (or the common one, why do you have to be right so often). Best friends are like siblings: you don’t always see eye to eye all the time, but you know you are being told just what you need to hear, and you take it with a grain of salt. Despite how many times I tell my best friend I hate her, I tell her I love her 10 times more, and either way she knows what I actually mean.
