Everyone experiences breakups differently, but the Kubler-Ross model, commonly known as the "five stages of grief," is a tried and true model that most people who have experienced any kind of sadness can identify with. It proposes five emotional stages that people experience in situations of grief: Denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Personally, in post-breakup situations, the best way I have learned to cope with these varying stages in through the magic of a Taylor Swift song. Swift has a song for every emotion you have ever felt, but these five songs are the perfect ones to listen to in each stage of your broken-hearted grief.

1. Denial: "You Belong With Me"

When you are unable or unwilling to admit that the relationship is really over, this song will help convince you that you and your ex are meant to be and will be together again soon. Whether or not this is a healthy way of coping with the situation (it is not), sometimes you just need to convince yourself that the universe has your back and that this was just some cosmic mistake in your perfect love story. "What you're looking for has been here the whole time."

2. Anger: "I Knew You Were Trouble"

When reality sets in, belting this song will help release some of that anger you will inevitably feel towards your ex and yourself. This song is a perfect mix of the anger you feel towards your ex for ending things and the anger you feel towards yourself for not seeing it coming. "Flew me to places I'd never been/'Til you put me down."

3. Bargaining: "Change"

Once the anger has been released, you may feel like you are willing to do anything to get the other person back, including changing your behaviors or the terms of the relationship. This song can be your way of privately pleading to the other person that you can make things work, without actually having to do that to their face. “And I’ll do anything to see it through/Because these things will change.”

4. Depression: "Forever and Always (Piano Version)"

Unfortunately, the sadness is bound to hit you like a ton of bricks. This song, which is an acoustic version of the original song that is only available on the "Fearless Platinum Edition," is the perfect song to curl up in a ball and cry to. It is the perfect mixture of anger, confusion, sadness, nostalgia and everything you are feeling wrapped up in a perfect little song. "And then you feel so low you can't feel nothing at all."

5. Acceptance: "The Story of Us"

Eventually, you will accept that the relationship is over, and understand that you are going to be OK. It can be a long road to reach this point, but when you do, you can look back on the relationship and learn and grow from it. This song covers the breakup process from start to finish, with a perfect ending of acceptance that the relationship is truly finished. "And the story of us looks a lot like a tragedy now, the end."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
