Thanksgiving is just around the corner. That means indulging in lots of food that tastes amazing, but isn't exactly healthy. Ease some of your post-holiday guilt with these tasty treats:

1. Yasso Frozen Greek Yogurt (100-150 calories)

These frozen Greek yogurt pops are a great way to satisfy a craving for ice cream. They come in a wide variety of flavors and with 4 or more grams of protein, all natural ingredients, and rBST milk, aren't terrible for you. You'll be surprised how something this good can have so few calories.

2. Chobani Simply 100 Crunch (100 calories)

Greek yogurt is delicious, but can also be high in calories, especially if you add granola and other toppings. This new product from Chobani combines various flavors of Greek yogurt with tasty toppings such as dried fruit, chocolate chunks, and cookie crumbles, while still keeping them low calorie. With plenty of protein and just a touch of sweetness, these make for a great breakfast or snack.

3. Fiber One Bars (90-150 calories)

For some reason, people tend to associate fiber with tasting like cardboard, but these bars are anything but. With a variety of flavors and types including brownies, granola bars, cookies, and cheesecake squares, there is sure to be something you like. This is a great way to enjoy dessert without the guilt.

4. Sugar Snap Peas (35 calories)

These veggies are a tasty and convenient snack option. Many stores sell them already washed and ready to eat. They are also great with a healthy dip such as light ranch or hummus.

5. Pretzel Crisps (around 110-150 calories)

These snacks are a great alternative to traditional pretzels or chips. Great by themselves or with a healthy dip, there are many flavors such as traditional, cheesy, and chocolate. The resealable bag also makes them a convenient snack for on the go.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
