School has started, let the long nights of making flash cards and studying begin!
With the beginning of a new school year comes new classes, new teachers, and for most of us- new peers. Something that never changes though, no matter the year, are the two types of students you will see in class: those who are overly enthusiastic and prepared, or those who look a little less excited to be there and ask you every day throughout the first week of class for a pencil because they conveniently left theirs at home.
I'm not saying being the second option is a horrible thing; if thats how you function and you are making the grades you are satisfied with, then go you! To each his own.
But for me, personally, I have always been that over zealous student who couldn't wait to go school supply shopping. Here are 5 tell-all signs that you are probably the same way, too:
1. It took you a lot of time to pick out the perfect planner, and even more timeto update and color-code it.
There is just something about seeing everything I have to do down on paper that is wildly motivating to me: green is for pay day, red is for school events, pink is for birthdays, blue is for extra curricular activities, orange is for class schedules... and did I mention how cute the inspirational quote is on the outside cover?!
2. The look of a fresh, new notebook or binder brings literal joy to your life.
No need for that old notebook from last semester with pages curling up and coffee stains all over it... not to mention, the colors are so off from my new folders for all of my classes.
3. You don't just have your planner, but multiple to-do lists and calendars, as well.
Scratching out things on a list is the best feeling in the whole wide world. I need to make a to-do list to fill out my calendar for this month, a to-do list to do my homework I wrote down in my agenda, a to-do list to make a new to-do list for tomorrow... maybe I'll invest in another dry erase board!
4. You have sticky notes and book tabs galore!
You better believe every chapter of all of my books has a tab so I don't have to waste those extra .56 seconds trying to open my book to the right section. You're welcome, professor.
5. You can't imagine how others are able to function without the amount of organization you possess.
Seriously, I may seem crazy to you, but you are literally magical to me: teach me your ways of getting by without constant color coordination/reminders. I would probably save a lot of money on school supplies that way.
Wishing all of you a wonderful semester, and best of luck to you on all your new classes!
