Fall is the season of falling leaves, pumpkin carving, going apple picking, and of course new seasons of all of our favorite shows. In today's modern world, we have gotten to a point where television is actually better than film in most cases. With so many creative and note-worthy shows, it's difficult to keep track of what's actually out there. I wanted to share a few of some of the shows that I have gotten addicted to. If you have time to fit one or all of these shows onto your list of shows to have a binging marathon to, I think these are definitely worth checking out.
1. Scream: The TV Series
This show is based off of the popular 90's slasher movie franchise, and honestly, when I first heard about this show I thought that it was going to be a train wreck, especially after Scream 4 had fallen extremely short of living up to its predecessors. The premise of the series follows high school student Emma Duvall, who seems to have the perfect life, until she and her friends become the prime target of an unknown killer. The haunting past of their small town comes back to unfold its secrets in a classic whodunit scenario.
2. You're the Worst
A smart comedy about modern romance follows the two toxic and self-destructive characters of Jimmy and Gretchen as they try to attempt the one thing both of them are horrible at: sustaining a healthy relationship. You're the Worst is currently in its third season, and although it is not a very well known show, its smart and witty dialogue, along with its strange set of characters make for an interesting story line.
3. Scream Queens
The creator of American Horror Story created this surprisingly smart and funny horror comedy about a series of murders spiraling around the sorority of Kappa Kappa Tau at Wallace University that are being committed by the "Red Devil Killer." Now in its second season, the show's setting has now changed to a hospital known as the CURE institute, where a few of our returning characters have come face to face with a new serial killer dubbed the "Green Meanie." You may find the show to be a bit ridiculous at first glance, but its satirical comedic structure and homage to popular horror classics make the show extremely entertaining and jaw dropping.
(Also, just FYI, John Stamos joined the cast for their new season, and he is just beautiful and amazing).
4. Bates Motel
This modern day prequel of the classic Hitchcock film, Psycho, centers around Norman Bates' backstory as a teenager and the strangely close relationship he has with his mother.
5. American Horror Story: Roanoke
Since its second season, the last few seasons of American Horror Story have somewhat fallen short due to its lack luster horror factor and plots that seem to go off on weird, and unnecessary tangents. Now in it's sixth season, the new theme of Roanoke is pretty frightening and contains a plot twist that is actually quite brilliant.
