Having thick hair is both a blessing and a curse. People with thin hair are filled with envy for you, meanwhile they don't understand how badly we wish our hair routine could be as easy as theirs. Of course, having thick hair has its upsides, but they come at a cost.
1. Constantly breaking hair ties.
While some may have a hair tie for a few months, people with thick hair can't even guarantee their hair tie will last the week. You can't forget about those times when you desperately needed to put your hair up, and snap! Your only hair tie breaks.
2. Blowdrying your hair.
Need to change up your workout for arm day? Try blowdrying thick hair! Something that normally takes the average person 15 to 20 minutes maximum takes thick haired people an upwards of 45 minutes to an hour. Your arms will be feeling like Jello when you're only a quarter of the way done.
3. Humidity.
The word "humidity" makes thick haired people cringe. You know that as soon as you step outside that your somewhat tamed hair is going to expand to resemble an open umbrella and become unmanageable. My friends often call me Hagrid from Harry Potter when my hair falls victim to the humidity.
4. Limited hairstyles.
Getting a haircut is a fun way to change up your appearance and add some style. Unfortunately, thick haired people are limited to a few hair styles, since short hair often makes us look like Dora the Explorer, and expands in the summer due to the weather. Long, un-styled hair just gets boring sometimes.
5. Constantly buying hair products.
Frizz control, jumbo bottles of shampoo and conditioner, heat protectant spray, and more. You can never have enough, especially considering you need double the amount to take care of you hair.
As much as we hate our thick hair sometimes, we can't help but feel fortunate to have been born with these luscious locks! Remember, some people aren't fortunate enough to have any hair, so we might as well accept the frizz and rock it!
