It’s crazy to think that only 10% of the world’s population is left-handed. We are rare and awesome, but being left handed does come with a price. Here are 5 struggles that left-handed people go through every day:
1. Spiral notebooks
Growing up as a kid I would always drag my mom to the store and buy the most sparkly and brightest spiral notebook for my classes. Not thinking about the cost of these spiral notebooks, I would arrive at class ready to work but my left hand said otherwise. Leaving the class, sometimes, with the spiral of the book tattoo onto my left hand was something that didn’t seem to phase me over time.
2. Three-ring binders
If we didn’t think spiral notebooks were bad. we had another thing coming. Nothing was worse than trying to take notes in a three-ring binder. By the end of class, I felt like I needed to go to the nurse ask to get my left hand amputated for the remainder of the day, not to mention trying to take notes in a three-ring binder slowed down my pace significantly and normally left me with half of the notes from the class that day.
3. Writing
Writing with absolutely any type of pen or pencil; you are 110% guaranteed to have marks all over the left side of your hand not to mention whatever you were working on will be smudged. I would say stick to pencils, but there is truly no way out of this mess.
4. Scissors
My long lost enemy since I knew how to use them. Two-minute crafts turned into two long hour crafts when scissors got involved.
5. Sports
If any left handed person has ever played a sport that involves a stick, or glove you will feel my pain on this one. When it came to softball gloves there were about 20 different options in the store for right-handers, on the other hand (literally) there were about two, three if you were lucky and went in on the day of a shipment.
