I love dogs. They are some of the most loving and loyal creatures ever created. They wait for you to come home every day, enthusiastically lick your hand when you come in the door and prance around as you put your stuff away and sit down. That's why going to college is so hard. I'm away from my dog at home and I'm not allowed to have a dog where I live, so I am forced to suffer until I move. That being said, I have come up with some struggles of being a dog lover who can't have a dog.
1. No matter where you are, you always find a dog
Whether you're shopping downtown or at a friend's house, you have a sixth sense as to where the dog is and it becomes your mission to find it.
2. Your friends tag you in all the cute dog videos
Usually these videos range from puppy pool parties to dogs saying, "I wuv you," but you love them all equally.
3. You have a favorite breed and have extensive plans to adopt one in the future
Yes, one of my favorite breeds is the corgi. I mean, just look at its adorable curiosity and confusion.
4. You often ignore people and say hello to the dog first
Some might reason that it's because you're shy, or possibly uncomfortable with talking to people, but that's not the case. You just like to greet the dog first because they are probably the happiest to see you.
5. Sometimes, you have to settle for cuddling with a cat
Often my friends will get a cat because it's easier to hide the fact they have a pet if they're not supposed to have one, but it's never quite as satisfying as petting a dog.
I once heard that a dog is there for a part of your life, but for them, you are their whole life. So give your dog a hug and enjoy the time you have with them!
