So it's almost mid-November and I'm sure many of us, whether we notice or not, are struggling with mid-semester blues. If I should be completely honest, the past two weeks have been the most unproductive for me since the semester started... and I feel so guilty. I've decided to acknowledge it and take the first step towards picking up the pace again. This morning I woke up early, got some work done and took some time to refocus my mind. I then realized that I'm definitely not the only one going through the struggles so I chose to share with you guys, a few ways you can re-motivate yourself to complete the semester successfully.

1. Acknowledge it

How can you address an issue without an initial awareness of it? So, the first step to any issue at hand is to acknowledge it. After which, you then plan how you're going to successfully move forward.

2. Dedicate time to planning

This is where your lists come in. You should note that planning "to the T" is necessary. Set weekly goals and accomplish them. Remember to break everything down into bite-sized pieces so you don't become overwhelmed.

3. Get Inspired…

And stay inspired. You can probably change your study spot or change your daily routine, whatever it takes to get inspired, do it. Another good way is to visit Pinterest and read some of those beautiful inspirational quotes. This is a great way to remember why you even started and where you want to end up. Maybe you can think about changing your wallpaper to an inspirational quote or talk to someone close to you about your current struggle. All you really need is a little push.

4. Move forward

Whether or not you didn't do so well during the first half of the semester, move on. Focus on making the last part of the semester nothing but amazing. If it's in any way necessary to look back, it's to evaluate your choices and actions and plan how you're going to move forward.

5. Stay consistent

The most important part of it all is to stay consistent. Focus on the twenty-four hours ahead of you and try to do all that you listed for that day. Push through, and don't give in to temptation nor laziness. Self-control is necessary. This is where you challenge yourself and push yourself outside of your comfort zone.

Oh.. and don't forget to sleep!

You know I've got your back,

Brit

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
