Vacations can be fun, relaxing and memorable. As exciting as it is to travel, packing up for time away from home can be truly exhausting. These are some of the thoughts and emotions you might have while packing for a trip.
1. Where to start?
The most difficult part of getting something done is starting it. Procrastination can often take over and delay the entire process. I often have to start over, which takes me at least a couple of hours no matter how long of a trip I'm packing for.
2. Choosing what to take or leave behind
I often don't realize how much stuff I actually have until I have to make sense of it all. Regardless of where I'm going and for how long, I'll just start tossing clothes onto my bed to make sure I don't leave anything that I really want to wear behind. It becomes a pain to sort through after, but I've found that it works best for me.
3. When you realize you've run out of time to pack
After my room ends up a mess and I've procrastinated a good couple of hours, I then realize that I don't have all the time in the world to actually pack up what I need. The panic sets in and I start to pack up everything. This often includes things that I don't use or clothes that just don't fit me anymore.
4. Making everything fit
Because I feel the need to have several changes of clothes with me per day I'm traveling (just in case,) I often have to squish all of my clothes and shoes into a suitcase too small to accommodate my overpacking.
5. Feeling accomplished once it's done
After I've finished packing and fit everything into my bags, I can relax and celebrate with a little happy dance. Ready for vacation!
