Springfield, Missouri, the home to somewhere around 164,000 people. This place has been my home for about 9, soon to be 10 years. That's almost more than half of my life! Some days, it feels like I just moved here. Before I knew it, 4th grade me, became well soon-to-be college sophomore, While time has flown by, I have found the places here in town, that hold that place in my heart, reminding me of home.
1. Palace Theatre
The Palace is the bomb and if you want to see a movie and not fork out wads out of cash, the Palace is there for ya! Let's just say they save lives with $3.50 movies. They are a second-run theater, so what that means is that they get the movies once the bigger theaters stop showing them. I also work there when I'm back home, so come by, see a movie, and say hi to ya girl!
2. Battlefield Mall
Springtown is not that big, but not super small. Let;s just say the mall was the place to hang out in middle school and still kinda is, even now.
3. Hurts Donuts
HURTS DONUTS IS THE BOMB DOT COM. Here up in Columbia, my college town, there is Strange Donuts which is similar, yet not as good as Hurts. Hurts Donuts saves lives as they are open 24/7 and have so many choices with their two Springfield locations.
4. Any bowling alley in Springtown
There are tons of bowling alleys in Springfield and tbh that's one of the only things people can do as a recreational activity in town.
5. Purple Burrito
Now there are a few Purple Burritos in town, but the one to go to is off of S. Campbell and Sunshine as they have the best customer service, quality food, and just great atmosphere. It's California styled Mexican food there which reminds me of (half of my) home as I was born and lived in San Diego, CA for about half of my life. They also have some pretty dope churros. Not Disneyland churros, but real good churros nonetheless.
