Halloween – the spookiest time of the year! However, some of us are not about being scared witless every thirty seconds while watching "Insidious" or "The Conjuring." Luckily, there are plenty of films that let us celebrate the spookiest season without the nightmares!
1. The Nightmare Before Christmas
Is it a Halloween or a Christmas movie? Even better. It's both! Spooky tunes and creepy characters make this magical movie one of the best to watch on a cool fall evening. Plus, the romance between Jack and Sally is definitely an example of #RelationshipGoals.
2. Hocus Pocus
"I smell... Children." Easily one of the best Halloween movies of all time, "Hocus Pocus" is hilarious and filled with super subtle jokes that adults will get but will fly over kids heads. Best Halloween movie to watch when you're babysitting? Most definitely, especially since it plays the most on Freeform's 13 Nights of Halloween. Let the Sanderson sisters put a spell on you!
3. The Addams Family
Between Wednesday's one-liners, Morticia's eternal style, and Gomez's adoration of Morticia, "The Addams Family" is perfect. America's favorite spooky, gothic family is one of the best to grace your television screen this Halloween season. Plus, you can't help but snap along to the theme song.
4. Halloweentown
"Halloweentown" is arguably one of the best Disney Channel Original Movies of all time. You've got Debbie Reynolds playing a quirky witch, and who didn't want to be Marnie growing up? This movie is equally nostalgic and just as entertaining as it was when you were younger!
5. Beetlejuice
One of my personal favorites, Tim Burton's strange and weird film "Beetlejuice" is everything great about Halloween. It's goofy, rude, full of pranks, and delightfully dark. Besides, the sequel comes out soon, so you have to watch the original!
So enjoy these spooky films this Halloween season, and then go to bed without fear of any nightmares coming to get you.
