There comes a point in life when you can't listen to songs the same way. When the songs used to make you happy now make you sad or vice versa. And then there are the songs that make you remember how you felt in that moment of time. Here are only 5 songs out of many that I listen to differently now and always make me feel either happy, sad, or nostalgic.

1. "For Always, Forever," by Every Avenue

This song brings me back to the memories I have with my high school best friend. When we would belt this out at the top of our lungs back then, and we were as happy as can be. Sometimes I get teary eyed when I hear this song because she and I aren't as close now as we are back then, and I miss her.

2. "Skinny Love," by Bon Iver

This song makes me both happy and sad. Reminding me of how I felt in past relationships which makes me feel a little sad, but also happy because of how great my current relationship now. Yes I know that sounds a little weird, but I think most people understand that feeling.

3. "I Love You Always," by The Icarus Account

When hearing this song the first time I remember thinking that I wanted to know what it felt like to feel that kind of love. And now this song makes me so happy when I hear it because I have that kind of love in my life now.

4. "Scars," by James Bay

This song may be newer than the others, but I still find myself listening to it differently than most songs. It reminds me of my the best friend I've had for about 11 years, and you know sometimes with friends of the opposite sex try to go into the relationship realm and it doesn't work out. Well, that happened to us but I never imagined that we wouldn't be friends ever. It took awhile but we kinda mended that relationship and we have remained friends, but we are not as close as we once were.

5. "Straight Outta Compton," N.W.A

I know this sounds kinda weird and I know this song is way different than the others. But this song reminds me of car rides with my brother, who recently moved across the country to California, and him rapping along with every word. And I would try to rap along with him, but then ending up laughing and looking at him and being amazed at how he knows all the words.

I know all of us have songs that make us feel a certain way and that also brings back all sorts of memories. These are some of mine, let me know some of yours in the comments.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
