5 Songs To Make The End Of The Semester Easier

Now that the last few weeks of the Spring semester are upon us, it's time that things get a little hard and it starts to become more difficult to focus. As someone who is motivated by music, I found that I was listening to these songs while working on projects and term papers.

I wanted to share with you 5 songs that can help you truck through the last few weeks of work and stress, and other ways to help you get through it.

1. Now or Never by Halsey

This song is so chill and honestly a great song to daydream to. You would think I would give you songs that would motivate you, but no. I wanted to share a chill song with you that would help you relax and maybe even daydream about your future soulmate and the summers that you'll share together.

TIP: Although it's a great idea to study as hard as possible, it's also good to take time for yourself and actually enjoy your last few weeks of the semester. You won't be able to focus after 4 hours of studying and cramming, so make sure you listen to Halsey to help calm you down.

2. Chasing Summer by Who's Molly?

Not many people know this band, but I think this actually one of the more motivating songs of the bunch. The song itself is about love and you can do with that whatever you please, but I would like to point out that we are all "Chasing Summer" right now.

TIP: When you want to quit, just remember that summer is only a few weeks away and that you're so close to being done with all the school work, at least for about 3 months.

3. Last Young Renegade by All Time Low

I love this song to pump me up. It increases your energy and helps you keep moving. It's not exactly a happy song but any rock song can help lift your mood.

TIP: Make sure you stay alert and ready when you work. If you have to listen to music or take breaks, it's better to ensure that you're always focused.

4. Ciao Adios by Anne-Marie

This song is for when "you're done". Every student feels this way, we all want to throw our work always and just say "oh well". Well, this song doesn't take about school specifically, you can say "Ciao Adios" and express every bit of frustration out during this song. That way you don't give up.

5. Silhouettes by Colony House

This song is so uplifting. It has a great tone and energy about it, and it describes that basically, everything is super hard, but "nothing silhouettes till the lights come on." Not everything makes sense and nothing is ever easy, and if you're having a rough time right now, there's a reason. It will all make sense after you get through the dark and you are successful.

TIP: Motivate yourself. Tell yourself that working hard will help you out in the long run, and you're where you are right now for a great reason.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
