Often times in life, there will be days when you feel down. On these days, you'll feel sad, depressed, not good enough, alone, forgotten, and insignificant compared to others. These days, one of the best things to do is to not succumb to watching sad movies or listening to sad music like that little voice inside wants you to (even though sometimes, that's what you need). On the days I'm under a gray cloud but ache to feel the sunshine, I find that listening to some happy music makes me feel a great deal better.

Here are some of my favorite songs to listen to boost my self-confidence and make a bad day good!

1. Sorry Not Sorry - Demi Lovato

This song is self-explanatory. For the days you need to feel sexy and good about yourself, this song is all about being unapologetic about self-love and that's exactly what you need on a bad self-image day.

2. Shake It Off - Taylor Swift

Probably one of the absolute best songs to Shake It to (yes, I had to) when you're feeling low.

3.Cool For The Summer - Demi Lovato

Yep, another song from Queen Demi. Because this woman just radiates self-love and confidence. So many of her newer songs radiate that pride and acceptance.

4. No More Sad Songs - Little Mix

Self-explanatory. When you have no idea what to listen to other than that sad playlist on repeat, listen to this. It's reassuring and seems to say that it's okay to feel down for a while, but to push through and do what it takes to feel happy again.

5.Green Light - Lorde

Although this song is about not being able to let go and being sad in general, the beat and tune of the song itself are pretty upbeat and dance-worthy. This is a great song to listen to when you want to listen to those sad songs but also feel a little less sad.

6. Castle - Halsey

This song will make anyone feel like a complete bada$$. Not only do you feel Halsey's regality seeping through your earbuds, but walking down any hallway will feel like you're walking to your throne.

7. Just Like Fire - P!nk

This song embraces differentiality, as P!nk always has. This song is a great one to end on for the simple fact that the music makes you want to sing along and the lyrics you'll sing will lift your spirits: No one can be just like you.

Whether you're going through a bad day or a bad month, never let that make you think it's a bad life. Keep your head up and never let anyone dim your sparkle.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
