Christmas.

Christmas is a time for family, friends, and good spirits. A season of giving back to those who are in your life. For some, the holidays are just a welcome break from the world and a time where we can just enjoy the little things in life. For those of us who do celebrate Christmas, we all have our own ways of making this holiday special. One of my favorite things about the Christmas season is that I get to listen to some of my favorite Christmas albums (don't be that person who listens to Christmas music on Halloween). Christmas and music go together better than almost any combination you can think of. With that being said, I'd like to share with you some of my favorite Christmas and Christmas-themed songs for you to add to your Christmas playlist.

1. Chris Farren - Merry Christmas Again

My favorite song off of one of my favorite original Christmas albums, Like a Gift from God or Whatever, Chris Farren comes together with one of my absolute favorite artists, Jeff Rosenstock, to create a joyous, fun, and original Christmas song. The entire album is a Christmas miracle, and you should definitely give it a listen.

2. Fall Out Boy - Yule Shoot Your Eye Out

What happens when you take one of my favorite bands of all time and put them together with Christmas? This. This is what happens. And it is a wonderful experience, because who doesn't want to hear Patrick Stump sing about not wanting someone underneath his tree for Christmas? On top of it being a great track, the A Christmas Story reference in the title makes it all the more better,

3. blink-182 - I Won’t Be Home For Christmas

I think there may be a blink-182 song for any occasion. "I Won't Be Home For Christmas" is blink's contribution to the Christmas music craze, and it offers an alternative to all of the positive and cheerful holiday songs. blink-182 may not be home for Christmas, but this song sure will.

4. The Kinks - Father Christmas

"Father Christmas" is an absolute Christmas classic. The Kinks have been a part of Christmas for me as long as I could remember with this track, as it is one of my Father's favorite Christmas songs, and definitely one of mine, too. We all could use a little more money, even if it means beating up a mall Santa to get it (which I totally wouldn't advise).

5. Sufjan Stevens - We Need A Little Christmas

So this one is a little more "Christmas-like" than the others on this list. Sufjan Stevens is no stranger to Christmas music, releasing almost 100 songs Christmas related songs over the years. Sufjan and his folk sound mesh together to create wonderful tunes in the name of getting you in the Christmas spirit. "We Need A Little Christmas" is one of my favorite songs off of 2012's Silver & Gold. As one of the more "traditional" songs on the album, it will always be one of my favorite Christmas songs.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
