5 Snacks To Protect Your Summer Body

Obviously everyone can agree that their favorite hobby is eating. With summer currently half way through, nobody wants to waste all their calories by scarfing down just a few cookies and before you know it, all 2,000 calories for the day are gone.

1. Animal Crackers

Everyones favorite childhood snack. By eating a good abundance of 26 crackers, the calorie count is only around 140.

2. Popcorn

The greatest movie theater snack. As long as you don't drown your popcorn with butter and salt instead of just lightly drizzling it, you can get away with around 100- 200 calories per large serving. Some brands even offer a 100 calorie pack.

3. Goldfish

26 goldfish amount to one serving. Although you may think that 26 tiny fish are not worth those calories, they're super tasty and extra filling as well.

4. Trail Mix

Who can complain about eating peanuts and M&M's? Trail mix is equivalent to a broken apart Reese's if you think about it. So next time you grab a Reese's or Trix, or any candy bar for that matter, grab some trail mix from the store instead. It also it an easy snack to throw together at home!

5. Dark Chocolate

Not everyone's favorite type of chocolate, (Milk Chocolate is better) but hey dark chocolate is better than no chocolate.

So next time you feel guilty about scarfing down those calories, don't! There are so many alternatives to try and actually enjoy just as much as a nice chocolate chip cookie.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
