5 Simple Ways To Navigate Your Long Distance Relationship

1. Pick a television show / book series

Whether you're a TV enthusiast or reader of books, one of the best ways to stay connected is picking a television show or book series to enjoy together. This is a perfect way to set aside time to watch an episode or read a chapter and afterward discuss your thoughts and opinions.

2. Thoughtful Gifts

Pick up a souvenir, postcard, or something unique from the town/city where you live. This is especially sweet if one of you⏤or both of you⏤travels a lot.

3. Phone Calls

This one may seem a bit obvious, but I don't think there is anything more swoon-worthy than an unexpected phone call that says, "I just called to tell you that I love you and I miss you," or, "I'm thinking about you," This speaks volumes. Unexpected and/or sporadic phone calls are a must.

4. Skype Dates

Let's be real, we're slaves to Skype and FaceTime while in a long distance relationship because without them we wouldn't be able to see our partners without physically being with them. Spice up your Skype / FaceTime date by preparing (or ordering) the same meal and enjoying a dinner for two while sharing your day with each other. Afterward, if your schedules permit, you can pick a movie to watch on Netflix together! Luckily there is a new app through Google Chrome called Showgoers which helps you do just that!

5. Handwritten Letters

While they may seem old fashioned, there is nothing more romantic⏤or intimate⏤than a handwritten letter from the one you love. Pick a subject. Like the first time you met, first date, or when you knew that you loved them. This is also a great keepsake for that beautiful day when you finally close the distance.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
