Now I know we all have trials and tribulations, and sometimes it can be extremely hard to find a reason to be happy. With all of the terrible situations happening in our world, it is difficult to say, "I am happy."

We feel guilty that we feel this way because people are suffering all over the world. I am encouraging you to take these steps and to find inner peace and happiness

1) Free your heart from hatred

Yes, we all have been there. We all have either hated someone or multiple people for doing us wrong. Let it go.

I am sure it is in the past. Why would you want to waste your time hating someone when you could be using that energy to do good? I hope one day you realize that hating someone will not fix your problems. Hating someone will only make you have a heavy heart.

2) Free your mind from worries

This is the most difficult step for me. I constantly worry about the future, if I studied enough for an exam or if people will accept me for me. I am sure most people find it difficult not to worry. We all know that when we worry, we let the devil in and shut God out. Try to pray every time you worry or write down everything you worried about at the end of the day. I promise once you stop worrying about everything, life will become so much easier.

3) Live simply

Live your life in such a way that makes you excited to wake up in the morning. Live your life in a simple manner. Stay humble and never take no for an answer.

4) Give more

Give people more of your time. Spend more time doing the things you love to do. Give more of your time for service and helping others. You will be doing yourself a service by giving your time for things that matter.

5) Expect less

Stop expecting praise or compliments from others. If you help someone or show someone compassion, do not go looking for a reward. Helping someone is a reward in itself.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
