1. Creativity

Music is a great way to show creativity, whether it be through singing or playing an instrument. With practice almost anyone can create music. Even if you are playing or singing a song written by someone else, you can make it unique and personal.

2. It can connect people

People can come together to create something truly amazing though music!

3. Emotion

Music allows people to connect emotionally through sound. Even with songs that you can't understand or songs that are purely instrumental, you can feel the emotion behind them.

Sometimes when listening to music you can also escape your troubles and help you relax.

4. Variety

There are so many different styles and ways to produce music. I am currently in a World Music class and learning about how different music around the world can be! Each part of the world has their own unique sound and instruments.

5. Music can help you study

I remember in High school writing a research paper about if music helps students study. Different types of music tend to help more than others. Research tends to recommend classical or instrumental as the best type to study with. However, as my brother told me during an interview for the research paper, study with music you like, "someone who doesn't like Metallica should not study with Metallica playing in the background", it really depends on the individual. Some people don't study better with music, but some do.

6. It's FUN

Almost nothing is more fun than jamming out to your favorite song!
