1. You don't understand the idea of having things taken without your permission.
I honestly can't imagine anyone taking my clothes or anything I own without asking. I share, but taking something is a completely different story. Isn't that supposed to be considered rude? Nope, this is an entirely different concept for me to comprehend.
2. Fights and yelling at someone else were almost nonexistent.
Movies, books, and the occasional friend coming over were the extent of noise from my house.
3. You don't always understand how people can make sarcastic comebacks so quickly.
This was a skill I had to teach myself. Not as easy as it seemed. It took years for sarcasm to finally stop going right over my head.
4. You usually are the mother/father of your friends.
We carry candy as rewards and normally tell everyone to be careful. The occasional, "I told you so," is warranted a fair amount as well. Personally, I think having everyone not running around crazy is great.
5. People assume you're spoiled.
Wrong. I've been told no countless times. I would have no idea what constitutes a balanced diet if my parents hadn't told me no to my pleas for ice cream for dinner.
6. You're usually really good at one thing.
The amount of free time you have from not having to constantly live/fight with a sibling usually leads to interesting hobbies. Those include, but are not limited to, being a gym rat, friendship bracelet maker extraordinaire, video gamer, and so much more.
7. Your best friends become the siblings you wanted growing up.
They say home is where the heart is, but that goes for people as well. My friends became my family, and they may not realize it.
