5 Signs You're Obsessed With Your Dog

Ever since I can remember I have always had a dog running around my house. Big, medium or small, I love them all! Okay, that was pretty cheesy, but really, dogs are great. If you have a bad day, they are always down for a cuddle. They can always be just as excited as you on your good days. I may be a little biased about my dog, but she is pretty awesome.

1. You’ve ditched hanging out with friends so you can chill with your dog.

I love my friends, but if I am being honest, my dog doesn’t care if I wear makeup or if I haven’t showered in 3 days. (Okay, she might care a little about that one.) Dogs just don’t care what you look like, they just want to hang out with their awesome human.

2. You’ve accidentally called someone by your dog’s name.

It happens, you’re talking and you accidentally call someone the wrong name. It gets really embarrassing though when you mistake your two-legged friend for your four-legged friend. Believe it or not, this has happened to me on multiple occasions. And to make it worse, my friends know that I am not talking about another person, I am actually referring to them as my dog.

3. Rainy days are a blessing to you and your dog.

Not only are rainy days amazing for humans, dogs love them too. To dogs this means that their human is going to sit on the couch all day watching Netflix and probably taking some naps. As a dog lover, I look forward to rainy days because it means I get to spend the entire day with my dog being lazy. What can be better than that?

4. You have a whole album on your phone dedicated to pictures of your dog.

I am not sure when I decided to do this, but man, it was a great decision. I take a million pictures of my dog, and I love to show those pictures off too. I mean, what better way is there to show all your dog off by creating a photo album especially for him/her?

5. You treat your dog like they are your child.

If only I had a dollar for every time I call my dog babe or baby in just one day. If you have ever had the opportunity to meet my dog, you know that she is quite the princess. She’s carried around pretty much all of the time, just like a baby, she gets what she wants most of the time because with a cute face like hers, who could say no?

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
